The recent updates have brought a fine portion of interesting changes in various aspects. There are some styling changes, but also novelties under the hood. The Sorento is an affordable, practical and very functional crossover, full of latest tech features. Definitely one of the best models in the class.
Engines
Count of two familiar engines in the offer for the 2020 Kia Sorento. Base models will continue with a familiar 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit, which delivers around 185 horsepower. It’s not the most powerful engine in the class, but its 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway beat all V6-powered rivals.
Of course, the Sorento also comes with a V6 engine in the offer, with a max output of 290 horsepower. It delivers significantly better performances, but the fuel economy goes for about 3 mpg lower. Still, these are pretty much average numbers for the class.

As we already mentioned, the recent update has brought a couple of novelties. These changes were mild, so most people probably won’t even notice most of them. There is a new grille pattern, while the front bumper came with a slight reshaping.
All lighting groups have been updated. There are new colors options in the offer, as well as new wheels. On the other side, mechanics are practically the same as in the initial model. All in all, don’t count on any notable changes for the next year. The best we can get is a couple of new color options.
Interior
The recent update was interesting from the inside. We presume that the most important novelty is that all models now come with three rows of seats. Still, the third row is very tight, definitely not for adults. Another complaint goes to the cargo area, which is smaller compared to pretty much all other SUVs in the class.
You can count on just 11 cubic feet behind the third row, while the overall cargo capacity goes around 73 cubic feet. For comparison, Honda Pilot offers 16.5 cubic feet behind the third row, while the overall cargo volume goes around 84 cubic feet.

Late 2019 is the time when you should expect to see this model available. Count on the pretty much same price range, which goes between $26,000 and $47,000, roughly.
