2021 GMC Terrain Design

Two GM’s compact model’s, the GMC Terrain and Chevy Equinox based on the D2XX platform alongside the Buick Envision will receive the mid-cycle update for the 2021 model year. Both models were spotted in the prototype form and should adopt the newest design language already seen in some models.

While the Chevy Equinox should receive styling updates inspired by the recently all-new Chevy Blazer, the prototype version of the 2021 GMC Terrain suggests changes influenced by the newest GMC Sierra and Acadia.

Like with every mid-cycle update, the majority of changes will be on the front and rear facias while the midsection should continue in the same form. The model is expected to get similar treatment as the bigger Acadia which, if it would be the case, will bring the new grille and headlight design upfront. A more dynamic and upright grille design inspired by that of the new-generation Sierra and Acadia models should also transform Terrain’s front-end to the more upright style. The headlights should look more modern and sportier thanks to the new shape and signature lighting.
