2022 Honda Odyssey Redesign, Hybrid, Spy Photos, & Specs. The upcoming 2022 Honda Odyssey Hybrid will suffer numerous refinements. This minivan was supposed to make its debut at the 2020 New York Auto Show this April. However, the show has been postponed for August due to the outbreak of the COVID-19. We saw the spy shots of the upcoming minivan. Honda released a couple of teasers right before the debut. Overall, we know everything about the arriving Odyssey Hybrid model.
The exterior will look fresh thanks to the latest tweaks and the interior will also undergo numerous changes and upgrades. The highlight of this minivan is surely its hybrid powertrain that will provide great fuel efficiency. If everything goes according to plan and Honda will release its new minivan later this year, the debut will happen in August.
HOW WILL HYBRID POWERTRAIN PERFORM?
The forthcoming 2022 Honda Odyssey Hybrid is almost here. This minivan will continue to offer a 3.5-liter V6 as a standard engine option. Reliable V6 is producing 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a standard 10-speed automatic transmission. A gasoline engine has been rated at 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
As for the hybrid variant, Odyssey minivan will arrive with similar technology you can find in Pacifica Hybrid minivan. Pacifica is also using a V6 powertrain and it pairs it with electric motors. Odyssey will pack more power and it should beat Pacifica’s 32 miles of all-electric driving range. However, exact performance and fuel efficiency figures are yet to be revealed.
2022 ODYSSEY HYBRID EXTERIOR REFRESHMENTS
Firstly, the spy photos of the 2022 Honda Odyssey Hybrid emerged online. We saw plenty of refreshments, despite the heavy camouflage. It is important to say that the regular gasoline version and hybrid variant will look the same. After that, Honda released a couple of teasers and things are much clearer now.
For a start, this minivan will arrive with redesigned LED headlights and reworked front fascia. Overall, the vehicle’s design didn’t change at all. The front fascia indeed looks different now. The rear bumper will suffer small modifications as well and it seems like the new side mirrors are in the offer now.
INTERIOR GETS MORE TECH
Inside the cabin, a new 2022 Honda Odyssey Hybrid will obtain more tech. Moreover, small cabin refinements are visible at first glance. The climate controls are updated and second-row seatbacks are now much easier to fold. The Elite trim level will arrive with new leather upholstery and some other amenities. The rest of the cabin won’t change that much, but improved technology features are surely a huge boost.
Like other Honda’s models, Odyssey Hybrid minivan offers a standard Honda Sensing suite of driver-assistance features. This suite comes with lane-keeping assist, a rear-seat reminder system, adaptive cruise control, and pedestrian emergency braking. Upper trim levels such as Touring and Elite are offering Honda’s CabinWatch camera system.
